First, to get your legal website ranked high, you are going to have to do some serious work. And I'm not talking about a flurry of work followed by swimming in riches. I'm talking about sustained work. Day to day grinding type of work. It is tedious. It can be boring. But it will work, and you'll become a legal SEO expert in the meantime.
So, how does it work? If you read my post on backlinks and how they spur the attention Google gives your law firm website, then you know that the more backlinks you can get the better, and the better the backlinks are (i.e. the more Google juice your sites have) the faster your law firm site will climb to the top of the Google search rankings. All we do is set up a system to create more and more backlinks to your sites.
Here we go. It's what I like to call the Google pyramid. As the name implies, it is a pyramid of law firm internet marketing for your legal website. It starts with your law firm website, optimized for your keywords and set up to receive maximum effectiveness from Google.
Next, there is a second layer of blogs that will eventually link to your website. Right now I have 5 blogs in this layer. Each blog is a separate, but relevant topic to the website. And they are on three different blog platforms - blog.com, wordpress.com, and blogspot.com. This give you different links to your site.
Under that is a third layer of blogs referred to farm blogs in the search engine optimization world. These are junk blogs that are on topic to your practice, but are built solely for the purpose of creating links to your other blogs and to the other farm blogs, which will then link up to your second tier blogs, which will then link to your website. Over time each of these links will become more and more powerful and Google will like your website more and more.
Right now you might be thinking about all of the work it will take to do all of this. And you are right. It does take a lot of work. But there are easier ways to do this, and I'll tell you about them next time.
Until them, keep blogging, keep linking, and keep working on your law firm SEO.
